"Western New York Heritage Press, the publisher of Western New York's illustrated history magazine, is a one of a kind regional history quarterly with a strong emphasis on the architecture of the area.

"For nearly a decade, the quarterly has presented internationally, nationally and locally significant architects to the public of Western New York in well-researched and illustrated articles. The magazine has made a concerted effort to raise architectural awareness in its publishing.

"It has presented articles on architects Louis Sullivan, H.H. Richardson, Frank Lloyd Wright, Joseph Lyman Silsbee, Richard A. Waite, F. W. Caulkins, E.B. Green, Edgar Tafel, and Henry G. Harrison, George Newton, as well as many vernacular structures in the City of Buffalo. The service provided by these publications has been invaluable to the appreciation of architecture in this area."

"Western New York Heritage Magazine is celebrating its tenth anniversary. As the region's only illustrated history periodical, it successfully achieves its mission to foster pride-of-place through the knowledge and enjoyment of the history of Western New York. This beautiful publication provides a much needed communication vehicle for disseminating new and ongoing historical research.

"The magazine publishes stories on diverse topics in business and industry, art and architecture, and sports and entertainment as they achieve their goal to research, document, preserve, interpret, and promote all aspects of the heritage of the eight Western New York counties through the publication and dissemination of original research in Western New York Heritage Magazine and other media. Among may outstanding contributions to our knowledge and understanding of our communities is their use of the internet and electronic databases to supplement the printed magazine. A user-friendly, searchable database of their archives is available to the public online.

"The founding editor, John Conlin, is retiring this year. WNY Heritage Magazine is proud to announce and introduce their new editor, Douglas DeCroix, who worked for many years at Old Fort Niagara. Mr. Conlin's leadership and editorial contributions have set a high standard for this superb publication. We extend our thanks to him for his guiding role for the first decade and welcome Mr. DeCroix."
